Here is my entry below! x

It takes Tom 45 minutes to get to Anna’s flat in London, but he doesn’t care, he never does because it’s worth it. She’s worth it.

He shoves his hand into his left hand side pocket, rummaging around until he hits the thin edges of the business card with his fingers and pulls it out alongside a small, velvet square box. He flips the card over and over in his hand in a repeated motion, nervous but excited for what he is about to do. He checks the contents of the box, flipping it up carefully and inspecting the shining gold ring inside.

‘Here goes nothing ‘ he whispers to himself, kissing the card and placing it back into his trouser pocket along with the box and knocks on the door in front of him.

‘I’ll just be a minute!’ he hears from inside the flat, followed by a loud thud and clank before the door swings open to reveal his beautiful  girlfriend Anna, dressed in a simple red dress that makes Tom’s heart feel like it’s about to jump out of his chest.

‘Hey’ he smiles at her.

‘Hey yourself’ she replies, mimicking his expression back at him.

‘ I've got something for you’ Tom says, being careful to only pull out the card from his pocket.

‘Oh god, it’s not going to be as bad as what you got me last time is it? You know I hate surprises and your surprises, let’s just say –’ Tom cuts her off.

‘Anna! Just look at the card!’ Tom chuckles, as he places it into her readily waiting hands.

She shakes her head but does as she is told to do. Looking down at the card, the colours grab her attention first. The delicate swirls of her favourite colours are all combined together on one small rectangular business card. The rich red and blacks wrap around a photo of her and Tom from the very first day they met.  She then notices the words; written in italics on card is:

Mrs. Anna Dawson.
Future-Bride-To-Be.

‘Tom...Does this mean what I think it means...are you serious?’ She asks cautiously.

‘100%’ he quickly replies.

She looks up from the card and sees Tom, kneeling on the ground on one foot, the velvet box open, showing off the glamorous ring inside.

‘Will you marry me, Anna?’ he asks.

She covers her mouth in shock, stunned at his proposal, letting a small shriek come from her body.

‘Is that a yes?’ he raises his eyebrows up in question.

‘Of course it’s a yes, you great buffoon!’ she screams, throwing herself at him so hard that the two of them topple onto the ground as she locks her lips with his, passionately kissing him.

When she finally comes up for air she asks ‘Proposing to me with a business card?, you really never fail to surprise me, you know that?’

‘It’s what I’m counting on’ he smirks at her, helping her to her feet.

‘How did you get this design on it anyway, its lovely?’ she asks, picking up the card from where it had fallen when they did.

‘It’s this really cool company called Solopress, they literally can put anything of there that  you want and it came the next day, such good service’

‘Soooo, since they did such a good job, does this mean we have to invite them to the wedding?’ Anna asks playfully.

‘I guess it does, my soon to be Mrs Dawson’ he says, grabbing her securely round the waist and shutting the door behind them.
